Case Study: American Society Of Civil Engineers (ASCE)

PRM worked with ASCE in the re-design of its employee pay program. As part of this assignment we:
  • Collected and analyzed job content data to determine whether employees were properly classified;
  • Developed job families in order to identify distinct career progression levels/opportunities;
  • Benchmarked competitive pay levels in the various labor markets where ASCE competes for talent;
  • Developed a pay banding system and then assigned ASCE positions to pay zones based on their external market values; and
  • Assessed ASCE’s actual employee pay against the payzone assignment for their positions based on race, gender, age and time in position.

Case Study: Washington Gas (WG)

PRM collaborated with WG to design a new employee pay program after the company established a new organization configuration. During this assignment, we worked with a project team consisting of a cross section of line managers in order to identify job criteria/dimensions and to prepare generic position descriptions to utilize in employee selection since affected employees had to reapply for newly created positions. We also designed a new job grading approach and market priced covered positions to determine future pay opportunities for position incumbents.
